Graz - the capital city of Styria

Culture & Art, Shopping & Wine Routes - only 2 hours from Schladming

The pleasure town on the Mur was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999 and is world-famous with its landmark, the Schlossberg with the Graz clock tower. The centerpiece is the Grazer mainsquare with its narrow streets in the Renaissance and Baroque style, which are filled with restaurants and shops. A cable car takes you up Schlossberg to the century-old clock tower. Another eye-catcher is the Kunsthaus, which opened in 2003, when Graz, the European Capital of Culture, hosted numerous exhibitions, events, concerts and other artistic performances.

Stroll through the beautiful old town of Graz, visit the Murinsel, the castle Eggenberg or go to one of the many museums or an exhibition such as: explore the Landeszeughaus or the Mausoleum.

The Styrian wine routes are a unique destination. Excellent white wines thrive here. In one of the numerous taverns you can taste these wines on site or enjoy after shopping in one of the many wineries at home.

In addition to culture, music, gourmet and sightseeing Graz also offers great shopping. Numerous shops are lined up in the famous "Herrengasse" (old town). Further shopping possibilities are offered by the huge shopping center "Seiersberg". Here you will find everything your heart desires in 200 shops.
